Back in July, after just over one month of filming,Foxdebuted thefirst trailerfor the network’s highly-anticipatedUntitled X-Files Revival, which gave us our first look at the return of Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson). Earlier tonight, Fox debuted a two-part trailer for the highly-anticipated series, which aired during new episodes ofGothamandMinority Report, and in case you didn’t see it live, we have the new footage right here. The series will debut with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

The first half of the trailer showed Mulder revealing that, while his “investigation” into paranormal activities stopped in 2002, his obsession is still stronger than ever. We also get to seeJoel McHale’s character, a news anchor who becomes allies with Mulder, along with our first look atMitch Pileggias Walter Skinner and a mysterious old man.

WhenThe X-Filestakes over the Monday 8 PM time slot in January, it isn’t known yet ifGotham, which currently occupies that time slot, will go on a brief hiatus during the X-Files' six-episode run, or if the show will move to another time slot. It’s possible that Fox could be taking a page out of ABC’s playbook forMarvel’s Agent Carter, which airs duringMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s midseason hiatus. This would allow for Fox to air more episodes ofGothamback-to-back, instead of the show taking a number of breaks throughout the season.

David DuchovnyandGillian Andersonreprise their iconic roles as AgentFox Mulderand AgentDana Scullyin the upcoming event series which will encompass a mixture of stand-alone investigative episodes and those that further the original show’s seminal mythology. In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee. We also reported earlier this month that thepremiere episodewill debut at New York Comic Con on October 10, months before its debut on Fox.
