Thanks to the iTunes in the Cloud feature, Apple customers have long been able to re-download apps, movies, TV shows, music, music videos, books, ring tones and tones purchased on the iTunes Store, but not audiobooks. As per Apple’snewly updated support document, customers in 22 countries total can now re-download any audiobook.

This feature is available in iBooks on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 8.4 or later, or in iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC. In addition, previously downloaded audiobooks, free or paid, are now listed in your Purchased history in iBooks and iTunes.

According to Apple’s“Availability of iTunes Redownloads” webpage, audiobooks can be re-downloaded in a total of 22 iTunes Store markets:

To have your audiobook downloads automatically download on your other devices running iOS 9.3 or later, go toSettings → General → iTunes & App Storesand set theiBooks & Audiobooksswitch below theAutomatic Downloadsheading to the ON position.

Keep in mind that the ability to enable Automatic Downloads for audiobooks is a new feature in the upcoming iOS 9.3 software update.

Re-downloading audiobooks on iPhone and iPad

1)Open theiBooksapp on your iOS device.

2)TapSearchfrom the bottom navigation bar, then search for the audiobook that you want to download.

3)In your search results, tapAudiobooks.

4)Locate the audiobook that you wish to re-download, then tap it. On the audiobook’s page, tap the cloud icon to instantly re-download your purchase to this device.

Re-downloading audiobooks on Mac

1)OpeniTuneson your Mac or Windows PC.

2)ClickiTunes Store.

3)Use the search field, find the audiobook that you wish to re-download to your desktop.

4)ClickAudiobooksfrom the list on the right side of the window.

5)Locate your audiobook and click the cloud icon to re-download it to your library.

By the way, iOS 9.3 also enables Family Sharing for audiobooks.
