TheStatus Barof every iPhone and iPad is home to abatterylevel indicator that keeps the user aware of when they’re going to need a charge. Unfortunately, the indicator tends to be somewhat bland and there doesn’t seem to be any indication that Apple will change that any time soon.
EnterBattiBar, a newly released and freejailbreak tweakby iOS developerHallieHaxthat offers a solution to the aforementioned quandary. More specifically, it colorizes the entire Status Bar with a transitional gradient color that transforms slowly over time as your handset’s battery discharges with use.
In essence, the end user is tasked with selecting two different colors — a ‘charged’ color and a ‘dead’ color. The charged color will be most prominent when your handset’s battery is fully charged, while the dead color will be most prominent when your handset approaches an empty battery.
For example, if a user set blue as the charged color and red as the dead color, then the Status Bar would turn purple when the battery level dips to just 50% charge. The closer to dead the battery gets, the redder it would get; conversely, the more charged the battery gets, the bluer it would get. Simple, right?
We should also note that BattiBar supports both dark and light mode, so colors can be configured for instances when the Status Bar would appear black and separate colors can be configured for instances when the Status Bar would appear white. Further, the developer ensures that BattiBar doesn’t override the operating system’s nativeLow Power Modeor Low Battery indicator colors — this is to help the user maintain battery awareness.
