Publisher THQ Nordic has fully acquiredBioMutantdeveloper, Experiment 101 and all of its IPs for 75.3 million Swedish Krona or $8.9 million USD, as reported by Gamasutra.

The publisher’s CEO, Lars Wingefors explained that the acquisition move was made because they couldn’t ignore the “significant potential” of the team and its game especially “After the strong receptionBiomutantreceived at its announcement atGamescom 2017”.
“We are excited to have been able to acquire Experiment 101 andBiomutant”

Wingefors goes on to say that their “aim is to buildBiomutantinto one of our major franchises. The recruitment of Stefan Ljungqvist and his talented team brings important new power to THQ Nordic.”
He later added that “In addition to continue leading theBiomutantfranchise, Stefan will advise on our strategy, future acquisitions and further game development projects.”

For those out of the loop,BioMutantis an upcoming action-RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world, where players take control of a customizable furry Rocket Racoon mutant with modifiable abilities. Players will also be able to experience their own narrative through a ‘Yin/Yang’ morality system in the open world game.
