How to solve the Apple Orchard puzzle and permanently unlock the white gate in the Blue Prince.
We were able to find four different entrances to the Basement, aka the Underground, during our time exploring Mt. Holly, and know exactly what you need to do to get there.

How to Unlock the Fountain Entrance
The first entrance to the basement is actually hidden inside thefountainoutside the manor in the driveway. You’ll need tofully drain the fountain of its waterto reach the entrance at the bottom.
Draft the Pool Room
First, you’ll need to find and draft thePool Room, which usually appears in the northern half of the building during drafting. It will require a gem to draft it, and will have a total of three doors (including the one you enter through). Drafting the Pool Room will add the Pool Room to your possible list of rooms.
Empty the Fountain in the Pump Room
You’ll need todraft the Pump Roomafter drafting the Pool Room. Upon drafting the Pump Room, you’ll need to use the series of pumps and tanks tolower the “fountain” meteron the wall to zero. There’s a diagram on the wall to help you navigate the pumps and where they lead.
Find a Basement Key
Once you have emptied the fountain completely, you’ll find a lockedBasement Doorwith a strange emblem on the front of it that cannot be opened with a normal key. To open this door, you will need a basement key, which can only be found by entering the Antechamber.
To enter the Antechamber, you’ll need to find one of the levers in the Secret Garden, Great Hall, or Greenroom (the Greenroom will need to be repaired with a Broken Lever), and then create a path to the corresponding entrance to the Antechamber. The fountain will remain drained every day until you change it in the pump room, so you don’t need to worry about making multiple attempts.

How to Unlock the Tomb Entrance
The next entrance is hidden inside the Tomb, an Outer Room with a black outline.
Unlock the West Gate Path
First, you’ll need to access the Outer Room by opening the West Gate Path, which is done by turning on the power to the Garage and opening the Garage door. Check out our guide to unlocking the West Gate Path for more help.

How to open the brown gate outside of the manor, permanently.
Draft the Tomb
In the Outer Room, you will need to draft a room called “The Tomb,” which awards the player 5 gold for every dead end room they draft that day. The Tomb is not available every day, and appears randomly for drafting like the other rooms in the manor.
Solve the Statues Puzzle
Inside the Tomb there are seven statues that players can interact with to lower their held tool. You will need to interact with and activate each of the Statues in the order that they appear in the Chapel room. Each mosaic in the Chapel depicts each statue, along with a Roman numeral beneath them to indicate the order they must be used.
Upon activating all seven statues in the right order, a wall will open up next to the final statue, leading you to another large room underground.

Greet the Reaper
To reach the rest of the basement, you’ll simply need to interact with the Grim Reaper statue in the adjacent room, standing above the broken map. This will lower the statue’s scythe, opening up the door at the end of the hallway for you.
How to Unlock the Foundation Entrance
The third entrance is found inside the house itself, inside the permanently located Foundation room at the bottom of the elevator.
Turn the Lever Behind the Foundation
After drafting the Foundation, it will be permanently fixed in place every day moving forward. To lower the elevator inside, you’ll need to create a path to the north side of the room, and then create a room with a door leading to the north edge of the Foundation. You’ll be creating a dead end on purpose, but it will reveal a lever that controls the elevator on the other side (flip it to lower the elevator).
Ride the Elevator with a Basement Key
At the bottom of the elevator, there will be another Basement Door, which you will need another Basement Key to unlock. This means you’ll need to unlock the Antechamber again and use the key that spawns inside to open it, leading to an underground storage area.
Reach the Green Button by the Bookshelf
To reach the rest of the Basement, you’ll need to create a path using the moving carts of items to the green button above the bookshelf next to the Basement Door. Once you press the button, the bookshelf will slide to the side, revealing a path to the opposite side of the reservoir.
How to Unlock the Mineshaft Entrance
The final entrance you can unlock requires already having the Foundation Entrance opened, as well as crafting the Power Hammer, which can be constructed in the Workshop room using a Broken Lever, a Battery Pack, and a Sledgehammer.
At the far end of the storage room beneath the Foundation, there will be a darkened patch of the brick wall. Use the Power Hammer on the wall to smash through it, revealing a mineshaft. you may then use the power hammer again on the wooden planks blocking the other end, revealing a path from the overlook outside to the Basement.
