During today’s Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom revealed more information about the upcoming DLC for Resident Evil Village. This was highlighted by an announcement for a 60-minute demo that allows players to try out the game in the third-person view, which is part of the DLC. Players now have the opportunity to switch between the first-person and a third-person mode for Winters' Expansion. The Winters' Expansion can be purchased separately for owners of the original game, or can find it all bundled together with Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition. This launches on October 28 and is available for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC. Players who pre-order this will have access to the Street Wolf Outfit for Rose Winters during her storyline.

The biggest aspect of the DLC is the story involving Rose Winters, the baby daughter of Ethan during the events of Village. She is now a teenager and has the opportunity to get the powers removed that she feels she was cursed with after the events of Village. Entering the Realm of Consciousness puts Rose back in parts of Village as she attempts to free herself from these powers. The Mercenaries mode that was found in Village will be receiving an upgrade with the DLC as three new characters have been added. Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and Lady D all have more beneficial skills than just playing as Ethan. New areas have been added for The Mercenaries Additional Orders and Capcom has also addressed the enemy AI as players will no longer need to hunt them as enemies will come to the player. Third-person mode will not be available in this mode, though.

A couple of other notes about Resident Evil Village were added to the Showcase. There will be a Mac version launching on October 28 that goes along with a Nintendo Switch version of the game. Resident Evil Village Cloud will allow Nintendo Switch players to play over the internet as this coincides with the releases of RE2, RE3 and RE7 on the cloud, which was also announced today. This will make all the recent Resident Evil games available on Switch. The Winters' Expansion Cloud will release on December 2. RE2 Cloud will launch on November 11, RE3 on November 18 and RE7 on December 16. Lastly, Capcom has provided an update to the multiplayer experience Re:Verse. This will be free for all Village owners as this multiplayer game will be cross platform and it will enter early access on October 23. This trial period will run for three days with the full game set to launch alongside the Winters' Expansion. Content is planned out for the game including characters over the next few months. Players will need to register for a Capcom ID and link their accounts to their preferred platform to play the game.
