Charlie Cox’s full return as Daredevil has finally arrived, and it has been more than worth the wait for fans, who declared the series an almost perfect comeback for the Man Without Fear on Disney+. Picking up after the events of the Netflix series,Daredevil: Born Againhas had a tumultuous journey to screens, but despite a complete creative overhaul, background crew changes, and plenty of reshoots, the debut of the series has been the Disney+ equivalent ofDeadpool & Wolverinefor Marvel’s TV arm.

First reviews landed onRotten Tomatoessoon after the series arrived on Disney+, and to say the reaction was positive is quite an understatement. The series has earned an initial 92% Popcornmeter from audiences, rising to 95% at time of writing, with most hailing it as being a more than worthy successor to Netflix’s series, which ended in 2018. It has taken seven years for things to fall back in place, but it doesn’t look like anyone is really complaining about that now.

Everything You Need to Remember About ‘Daredevil’ Before Watching ‘Born Again’

Here is everything to remember about Daredevil and Kingpin’s story through the MCU ahead of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

Among the first 14 reviews of the opening episodes, user Sndndnnd Z said of the new iteration of Daredevil, “The show brings the Netflix series back to life with intriguing characters and a plot I can get behind. This is exactly what the MCU needs right now, and it’s good to see a ground-level project doing well. It doesn’t need lots of CGI it just needs to be well written. So far this show is perfection..”

Marcillio J added their thoughts, saying, “Intense and brutal from the get-go, with a great promise of it just getting better. Charlie and Vincent prove once again it would be a herculian task for any other actors to step into the roles of Matt and Fisk. Good to be back in Hell’s Kitchen.” Meanwhile, Locki B added the greatest praise of all, declaring:

Literally one of the greatest show revivals I have ever seen and just a unbelievably good show overall 100% would recommend.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Almost Landed a Perfect 100% Score

However, there are always those who are not going to be happy with anything Marvel Studios produces, leading to the currently single bad review (0.5 stars no less) from Muhammad A, which says, “Genuinely expected better for Daredevil but yeah, the MCUfied this too. This is nothing compared to Netflix’sDaredevil.” You can’t please everyone.

At the time of writing, only one critic has reviewed the series, with the embargo just starting to lift, but it looks like the sentiment from that side of the review pool could be just as positive. John Kirk ofOriginal Cinsaid, “In my opinion, Daredevil is one of the greatest stories ever told in a comic. And the television adaptationDaredevil: Born Againdoes it full justice.”

Ahead of Season 1’s debut, showrunner Dario Scardapane offered up an idea of how many episodes fans can look forward to across the first two seasons ofBorn Again. However, he also teased that this is only the beginning of the story for the masked vigilante, which, based on these early reviews, seems to be something that is more than justified.

“At this point, it will be a nine-episode first season. We start shooting an eight-episode second season on Friday, and the future is unwritten. I don’t know if the story necessarily ends at the end of the second season. I think the future’s unwritten.”
