Daybreak was announced this week on the official Pokemon Day. Pokemon Legends: Arceus Daybreak is a free content update coming to all owners of the game.

Daybreak is a Free Content Addon for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and is Available Now

On Pokemon Day, Nintendo announced that Arceus, the recent open-world spinoff, would be getting Daybreak. This is a free content update that also marks the arrival of patch version 1.1.0. The update is currently available for all owners of the game and has been playable since the announcement.

At the same time,Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were also announcedon Pokemon Day. This will be the first mainline game in the series to feature an open-world design. While Arceus is also open-world, it is generally considered to be a spinoff rather than a mainline game.

Daybreak Gets Endgame Activities

Pokemon Legends: Arceus had an extremely good launch, and was able tosell 6.5 million copies in its first week. It was well-received fortrying new thingsto the tried and tested Pokemon formula.

The Daybreak Outbreaks of the Hisui Region

New outbreaks of Pokemon have been reported in theHisui regionsof the game accompanied by some terrifying rainstorms. The player must then investigate all of these mysteries and find out exactly what is going on. Their investigation will be joined by Warden Mai from the Diamond Clan as well as her Pokemon, Munchlax.

Trainers will also be able to battle new types of foes, specifically Legendary Pokemon wardens. The collectors in us will definitely appreciate these new entities and opportunities to fill up their Pokedex. Daybreak activities are specifically endgame focused as they will only be available to players who have already had the end credits roll.

The Eternal Battle Reverie

Another high-level system being added with the Daybreak update is the Eternal Battle Reverie. This option becomes available whenever the player goes to sleep in their quarters. During their slumber, they will be visited by Arceus in their dreams.

Players will then have their mettle tested. The Eternal Battle Reverie will consist of many difficult encounters, some even involving facing off against two Legendary Pokemon at the same time. Players can also try their skills against a gauntlet of fights and see how long they can last.

The Eternal Battle Reverie mode unlocks after the player has completed all of the available missions in the game.

The Jubilife Village Training Grounds

One other endgame system will allow the player to take on some trials at the Jubilife Village training grounds. Players will be able to battle wardens that they have already encountered during their travels around the world in the Path of Tenacity.

They can also impose some difficulty modifiers in their fights. One example given was that players could challenge themselves by limiting their roster to only one Pokemon in the Path of Solitude.

Of course, it’s not all doom, gloom and hardships coming in the Daybreak expansion. Different people will start visiting the photography studio in Jubilife Village. The player can then take this opportunity to have them guest in the photo mode. Players can also make a new request at the Berry Harvest to grow fruits that they couldn’t previously.

Next up, there will be a new Balloon Race challenge, available in the Coronet Highlands. This high-difficulty activity will let players ride different kinds of Pokemon to compete in races.

New Training Ground Challenges

And off to something more substantial, players will receive a new gift in celebration of Pokemon Day. Starting now until June 12, 2025, players can receive 30 Ultra Balls, 30 Gigaton Balls and 30 Jet Balls for free. They can obtain these by entering the in-game Mystery Gifts menu and enter code “ARCEUSADVENTURE”.
