The Exorcist III (1990) - Oct. 8
The Exorcist IIIis a true psychological thriller that is unsettling for various reasons. While it isn’t filled with blood and gorelike other 90s horror filmsand won’t spill your popcorn out of your hand with constant jump scares, it is anything but boring.
The story, which takes place seventeen years after the exorcism of Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) and the execution of the Gemini Killer, who murdered countless innocents, follows a police officer, Lieutenant William F. Kinderman (George C. Scott), who is obsessed with finding the killer after discovering a series of grisly murders, but to no avail.

However, when a mysterious patient from a high-security psychiatric facility who bears a striking resemblance to Father Damien Karras (Jason Miller) claims to have all the answers that Kinderman desires, secrets surrounding Regan MacNeil’s possession and the current serial murders are brought to light.
Evil Deadis what you call a bloody remake that defies all horror expectations, even if you’ve seenSam Raimi’s cult classic originalThe Evil Deadfrom 1981. It’s everything the original films were, but with a modern twist, and it is arguably one of the scariest and goriest films of the twenty-first century. Unfortunately, the film leaves Hulu at the end of this October, so make sure you watch it before then.

Leprechaun Films (1-8) - Oct. 31
TheLeprechaunfranchise, which began in 1993, has spanned eight films to date, with the most recent film,Leprechaun Returns, released in 2018. It is one of the fewslasher films that involves an interesting antagonist, and virtually every installment in the franchise is a fun fest.
The film series follows Lubdan, a mysterious and murderous leprechaun who, after being robbed of his gold, resorts to drastic measures to retrieve it, even if it means murdering those who come in contact with it. An untitled reboot of Leprechaun is currently in development, so if you want some slasher fun this Halloween, you might want to catch up on the franchise.

Se7en, a magnificent postmodern film noir that brought a new outlook on the crime genre, is leaving Hulu this October. The film, often hailed as a classic and a masterpiece, features one of the best actor combinations, with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman assuming the titular roles. If you haven’t seen this excellent murder mystery film yet, there is no better time than Halloween.
The plot revolves around two detectives: William Somerset (Morgan Freeman), who is about to retire, and David Mills (Brad Pitt), a naive rookie on his first assignment. Following a series of murders committed by a sociopath who claims to be purging the world of the Seven Deadly Sins, the detectives team up to catch the killer by chasing after the clues, only to discover a gruesome fate awaits them.

In Time (2011) - Oct. 31
In Timeis a unique film, even in the science fiction genre, that, despite falling a little short of the bar it sets at the beginning, keeps you hooked throughout with a fantastic execution. In addition to the grand twists it brings to the table, it throws in some drama between the main leads and several action sequences to keep audiences entertained on both ends.
The story takes place in a world where time has become the ultimate currency. People stop aging at 25 but are only designed to live another year unless they can afford to buy their way out.
