Isabelle Fuhrmanis currently on location in Utah for the production ofHorizon: An American Saga, a series of Western films from Kevin Costner. Last year, it was reported thatFuhrman had boarded the projectalongside Costner, who also stars in addition to directing. A passion project for Costner,Horizonhad been stuck in development hell for many years before finally getting production started with the first installment filmed last year. Costner says he plans to make four installments of series, and the second is currently filming with Fuhrman now on set.

In a new interview with MovieWeb to promote her new seriesSheroes, Fuhrman touched on her ongoing work on theHorizonproduction. She opened up on working with Costner, praising him for his kindness along with his ability to help bring other talented and like-minded people together for his projects, as she’s learned withHorizon.

“I love him. He is wonderful, kind, sweet, generous,” Fuhrman says of Costner. “I really do think that he is a genius. And he has such a great eye for talent, but also good people, like our entire cast and crew. It doesn’t happen all the time that you work with people that you not only love while you’re working with them, but you keep in touch after because making a movie is like this big petri dish. And it’s like, you’re there for months, and then everybody goes separate ways. And sometimes people stay in touch, and they don’t. And this is for movies that we’re filming back to back… And Kevin has brought together such a great group of people.”

Furhman continues, “I think these movies are incredibly special and so well written, and I can’t wait for people to see them… And he’s put like all of his own money behind it. And you can tell every day, he feels like he’s 23 years old. He has such a happy, youthful energy about his work, and the passion exudes from every frame of the movie and how he treats everyone on set. He is a wonderful class act, and I absolutely adore him.”

Furhman also teased what’s coming next in her career. She mentioned how she’s been having a “blast” on the set ofHorizonwhile divulging other projects she’s been getting involved with, feeling that right now is a particularly good time in her life.

“I’m currently in Utah filming Kevin Costner’sHorizonsaga, and I’m just having a blast here,” Fuhrman says. “It’s been really such a cool experience, drastically different obviously thanSheroes. And then, I have two films I did last year that will be coming out probably this year [or] next year, calledUnit 234that I did with Don Johnson and Jack Houston, that Andy Tennant directed. And then I reunited with Josh Hutcherson, Dennis Quaid, and David Thewlis in a movie calledLittlemouththat I did as well last year, that I think will be coming out soon as a sci-fi. So I’m just having a really good time right now.”
