After its initial announcement in 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the studio launched a Kickstarter campaign to support the game.

The crowdfunding effort, initially set with a goal of €100,000, serves as a “safety net” for development while also offering backers exclusive extras, including a beautifully crafted collector’s edition.

Now, just weeks later, we are pleased to announce that the Kickstarter campaign forThe Sinking City 2has surpassed expectations by 400%, amassing over €420,000 to date.

A Free Upgrade for Fans

As a token of appreciation for the fans, Frogwares has revealedThe Sinking City Remastered, an enhanced version of the 2019 original. Those who already own the game onPC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|Swill be able to claim the remaster for free. It’s worth noting that Frogwares holds 100% of the rights to the IP.

A gameplay showcase featuring more details and a release date will be unveiled soon, but for now, we already have some first-look images of the remaster, along with comparison shots highlighting the improvements.

The Sinking City Remasteredbrings the environments of the 2019 game to life using Unreal Engine 5, introducing visual and gameplay enhancements.

Frogwares confirms that this remaster enhances the experience of the first game with Unreal Engine 5-powered graphics (as opposed to the original’s Unreal Engine 4), providing greater detail across its various locations.

The game’s environments have been refined with additional details, improved player interaction, and new quality-of-life features—all while preserving the essence of this modern classic.

Beyond technical upgrades such as 4K textures, enhanced reflections, lighting, and shadows,The Sinking City Remasteredalso introduces a photo mode. Additionally, the game now supports advanced upscaling technologies like DLSS, FSR, and TSR.
