There are various weapons that you can use inThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and some of the unique and powerful weapons you’ll get your hands on will have enchantments on them to enhance how they work in combat. When a weapon has enchantments, it will require a soul gem to recharge, and not all soul gems can store the same levels of powerful souls needed to recharge these enchantments. Grand Soul Gems, as well as Black Soul Gems, are going to be your best bet at fully recharging your weapons.

Where to Find Grand Soul Gems
Unlike Black Soul Gems, these Soul Gems can be easier to get your hands on.
Like most other Soul Gems, a Grand Soul Gem can be found when defeating enemies. These gems do have a chance to be on those fallen enemies as well as spawn in chests that crop up in your adventure. This is ideal, since these do have the same capacity of power as the Black Soul Gems while still dropping during your loot runs.
It is found in the Nornal Ageasel section of the ruins, and you must be progressing the Vampire Cure quest for this area to be available.

Squandered Mine
It can be found in the Wind Holes section of the mine, available once you have begun the Vampire Cure questline.
Crayfish Cave
This gem will be found in the Crayfish Steep section of the cave. This section will be available when you’ve progressed through the Vampire Cure Questline.
Chorrol Mages Guild
Two display cases contain Grand Soul Gems, and the main floor case has a very hard lock to bypass.
Arcane University
One Grand Soul Gem can be found in the Arch-Mage’s Lobby, and one more in the Mage’s Quarters.
Located in the basement, accessed when observing the trapdoor under the fireplace.

NPCs Carrying Grand Soul Gems
You can also loot these gems off of NPCs if you need even more for your adventures.
While you can sometimes buy gems from vendors in the Mages Guild and Imperial City, there are some other options to snag a couple from your peers. They can be somewhat difficult to get if your pickpocket level is too low, but if you need some Grand Soul Gems quickly, this is a viable way to get 7 of them.

With these soul gems, you can capture powerful souls with the right weapon enchantments, trapping them for you to use and power up your weapons. They are reliable to find on NPCs and enemies alike, while holding larger souls that can give your weapons a significant charge to allow you to charge them less often.
