Accepting Quest
Located directly east of the southern entrance of Fior mes Iverno, local farmer Sielo Piannini is having trouble feeding himself and his family, but it’s not necessarily because of a bad season. While blights and wildlife have not helped the situation, he now has to deal with bandits making off with their harvests.
These bandits have made off with months' worth of food he has been storing, ensuring that his family goes hungry. He points you in the direction of the stream up north, where he believes the bandits went to.

Riverside Cave
Depending on how you handled your assassin in the first chapter, it will likely affect this side quest. If you follow the stream to the west of Fior mes Iverno all the way to the northernmost point, past the Abandoned Farms, you will come across a cave. This Riverside Cave houses the rebels that you met in Dawnshore.
As you can imagine, depending on how you handled their leader in the main story, their reaction might be different. While they don’t necessarily like him, he’s still their leader and will go out of their way to ensure the rebellion continues forth. If you let him go, they are a little more hospitable, though.

Here you will meet with Erlinn Matishell and Ortrud, who the latter seems to just stand around. Speaking to them, they will reveal that they are the thieves but feel bad about it. They never want to resort to theft or harming anyone else, but they have an entire battalion of people they need to feed, and if it’s between a farmer and his family and the rebels, she’ll choose rebels.
Siding with Erlinn
There are two real outcomes of this side quest. If you side with Erlinn and let her keep the goods, you will simply return to the farmer empty-handed. He isn’t pleased with anything you have to say and will shoo you away. It’s a simple and less confrontational outcome if you consider the potential alternative.
Siding Against Erlinn
In this scenario, you may either convince Erlinn to give back the goods, or kill the entire camp of rebels to get the small amount of food. You will need to follow a strict line of dialogue in order to accomplish this without a fight:
The alternative is fighting them, which can be a tricky fight considering they have great numbers. Regardless, you will obtain the goods and all that needs to be done is return to Sielo to receive his thanks and some XP.
