Bayonetta is known for her specific style, but her appearance has changed over the years. The default costume from Bayonetta 3 is, for example, quite different from the one she wore in the first two games, although in the latest sequel, which has just arrived on Nintendo Switch, it is possible to change Bayonetta’s costumes like never before and even customize the colors and details. Keep on reading to find out how to customize outfits in Bayonetta 3.

How to Get New Outfits in Bayonetta 3

Miraculously, there are no additional costumes that you get as a pre-order or digital edition bonus, not even the Collector’s version – the Trinity Masquerade Edition – does not bring a new outfit for Bayonetta. There is no paid DLC, nor a way to buy costumes in-game with real money, for now anyway. If you want to change your clothes, you will have to work for them in the game, old-school style!

Costumes in Bayonetta 3 are unlocked through the Mirror items. For example, the default costume is named Super Mirror 3, while the others can be unlocked in Rodin’s Gates of Hell shop. When you are between levels on the Chapter Select screen where Bayonetta chooses the next location with the darts arrow, press the – button to go to the Shop. You can also transport to the Gates of Hell from the old record player floating around in a stage.

In the Shop, navigate to the “Rodin’s Treasures” option. Here you can buy new Mirrors / Costumes, as well as CB modifiers (Couture/Couleur Bullets that are basically alternate colors and details for costumes). In “Rodin’s Treasures” it is also possible to buy Figure Box models for the 3D viewer mode in Gallery and similar bonuses, but what is specific for everything in this part of the Shop is that all items are bought with Halo rings. In previous games, these Halo rings were the main currency that Bayonetta collected in bulk by beating up the creatures of Paradiso, but as the main opponents in Bayonetta 3 are Homunculi who drop the different new main currency, Halos are a little harder to come by this time around.
