While the Eggs and Shadow Crystal Bosses present far more mysterious and seemingly important mysteries to find in eachDeltarunechapter, the Moss is often overlooked, despite being in a similar boat.

Like with the other two, we have no clue what getting all the moss will eventually do, and while it may not be important per se, collecting it in every chapter does change your title and gives some fun interactions.

Deltarune: How To Find And Defeat The Secret Boss In Chapter 4

This fight isn’t going to go down without a bang.

It’s often obscure, it usually just looks like a part of the environment that you aren’t meant to interact with, and grabbing it will elicit different reactions depending on who’s in your party at the time.

There will almost definitely be some sort of payoff for doing this, and since it’s easily missed, I decided to compile a list of all four moss piles you can find and consume in Deltarune, as of Chapters 3 and 4’s release.

Locked Away

This one is easy. After youchase Lancer and get capturedby guards, you’ll end up in a prison cell with Ralsei, and you cansimply interact with the moss in the cornerto consume it, which doesn’t grant you a title.

Every other moss event will change Kris' title in the inventory menu, so keep an eye on it, as that may be the only consequential thing to come from finding moss in every single chapter in the game.

Traffic Stop

This one is quite a bit more involved. While you’re walking through Cyber City with Noelle, you’ll come across a huge traffic areawhere you need to head to the right and hit two different stop buttons to progress.

Once you do this, head straight down and to the right, then head through the alley anddown again without stopping, and you should barely be able to make it into another alley on your left before the traffic resumes.

Walking down this way, you will have a fun encounter where Toby Fox himself comes to destroy you entirely, which will leave you next to a dumpster, coincidentally, in the same room where youcan find the egg of this chapter.

The moss is in the corner, and consuming it grants you the title of Moss Finder. If you’d like to be extra nice, you can progress until you unlock fast travel, then come back here with Susie so you can enjoy the moss together.

It’s TV Time!

This is one you canget completely locked out of by just progressinga bit into thesecond Legend of Tenna board, so tread carefully. Once you spawn in, head directly north, then go right in the next room.

Here, you’ll find a cave with moss on the wall, which you can consume in the game within this game to update your title to Moss Mystery. If you were to come back here later, the moss would most likely have exploded, so be sure to get it done quickly.

A Holy Place

Continuing the trend from the only other even-numbered chapter, Chapter 4’s moss room is in more or less the same location as the Egg room, and this time, there are two entirely different ways to access it.

The first is easily missable, but easier to access than the second. In the Second Sanctuary, after your tower climb with Susie, where she’s explaining how happy she is to be in the prophecy, head right when she heads left.

Here, you’ll find a door to a hallway full of windows. You need to find a specific window for the egg, but you can simply walk to the very end of the hallway and interact with the moss in the corner to get the title of Moss Most.

If you didn’t get it in the second sanctuary, don’t worry.Even on a completed save, you can backtrackto the room in the Third Sanctuary where dark balls surround and move in on you, then get to a secret path.

This path is located just above the exit to this room, and all you need to do is walk back from the exit, up, and to the right. Head inside the door, go left, say no to the NPC, and a path will open up to that same window hallway.
