Apple is aware of a bug where home screen widgets might revert to their default settings after an iPhone or iPad is restored from a backup. The company writes in a support document published on theApple websitethat the issue affects only “a limited number” of devices.
Concretely, the following iPhone and iPad models could reset the user’s home screen widgets after the device is restored from a previously created backup.

If you’re seeing this issue, you must manually customize your widgets as you normally would. As a quick refresher, touch and hold a widget on the home screen to reveal the shortcuts menu, then chooseEdit [widget name].
