Many fans ofKrysten Ritterhave spent the last few months speculating and theorizing about the actress’ possible reprisal of herJessica Jonesrole in the MCU. Now though, it looks like Ritter may have her hands full with a different role, as the lead in AMC’sOrphan Blacksequel, entitledOrphan Black: Echoes. The original series ran for five seasons starting in 2013, and starred another Marvel star, Tatiana Maslany, as Sarah Manning, a British con artist who witnesses the suicide of a woman who looks exactly like her and she later discovers that she is part of a human cloning program. The new series will be set in the same world as the original series but will follow different characters.
The synopsis for the new series reads: “Orphan Black: Echoesfollows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unraveling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.” Ritter will star as Lucy, a woman trying to find her way in the world, and will be the actress’ first return to AMC since appearing as Jane Margolis inBreaking Bad.

AMC Studios and AMC Networks entertainment president Dan McDermott said of the new show, “Orphan Blackhad a remarkable run on BBC America, attracting millions of dedicated and highly engaged fans, captivated by a smart and engrossing story and a star-making and Emmy-winning performance by Tatiana Maslany. We can’t wait to dive back in with Anna, John, and our partners at Boat Rocker and deliver an all-new version of this rich world that is worthy of the Clone Club.”
A series order was placed back in April forOrphan Black: Echoesand the series is expected to air in mid-2023.

Krysten Ritter Could Be Reprising Her Role as Jessica Jones
From the moment Marvel Studios reclaimed the Netflix Marvel Television shows, there has been constant speculation about if and when the characters ofThe Defenders Sagawill be joining the MCU. While Daredevil is already set to appear in his own series and a number of other Marvel projects, Ritter’s Jessica Jones is another character that fans would love to see back in action in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although there have been a number of teases from Ritter and others, as well as Marvel making a subtle change to the title ofJessica Jones,renaming it asA.K.A. Jessica Joneson Disney+, there has been no official confirmation of whether fans will get to see Jessica Jones back on screens soon. However, there is one rumor that seems to have not been debunked yet and could see the character returning next year.
Daredevil and Kingpin are both set to appear inthe Hawkeyespin-off seriesEcho, and there has been a lot of speculation that part of the series could see Charlie Cox’s Daredevil attempting to track down Jessica Jones, and that could give the superhuman private investigator her first taste of MCU life. No doubt, all will be revealed soon enough as the franchise continues to roll on over the next few years.
