The Simpsons Regularly Has Musical Guests

The Simpsonsfamily regularly has musical guests appear on the series, from singer-actor Ron Taylor voicing “Bleeding Gums” Murphy in the first season’s “Moaning Lisa” to The Weekend portraying Orion Hughes, the owner of a fictional skate company. Legends like Johnny Cash, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and James Brown have also appeared on the show, as well as pop idols like Britney Spears and Justin Bieber. And the influence goes the other way too, with bands like Fall Out Boy actually getting their name from an episode ofThe Simpsons(14 years before they appeared on the series).

More recently,The Simpsonswelcomed Bad Bunny to Springfield for his music video “Te Deseo Mejor” last December. In the video, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer rekindled Homer and Marge’s relationship after they got into a fight. Then, in another recent episode, “Panic on the Streets of Springfield,” Benedict Cumberbatch replaced Morrissey as the Morrisey-inspired Quilloughby, a depressed British crooner without outdated attitudes, in one of the best musicalSimpsonsepisodes of all-time.

The Simpsonsspecials can currently be found on Disney+ along with the original seasons of the series. However, to find the newly released episodes from Season 32, fans will have to stream to the episodes on Hulu, including a recent episode with the return of “Bleeding Gums” Murphy’s ghost and his deaf son,Monk (John Autry II).
