Deadman’s Best Friend is a secret achievement in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. In order to get this achievement, you will need tobefriend a hellish companionthrough taming a Hellhound. Befriending a Hellhound can be a great strategy for solo players, as it will grant you a companion that will aid you in battle. However, doing so can also allow you tounlock the You Can Pet The Dog trophy.

Befriending A Hellish Companion
The first step to befriending a hellish companion is toobtain a Chunk Of Flesh- a rare item dropped by eliminated Zombies. Though your chances of finding this rare drop can be quite low, the most surefire way of securing one is throughkilling several Zombies with explosives.
Now that you have secured a Chunk Of Flesh, the next step is tolocate a Doghouse. Doghouses can be found in specific locations around Urzikstan, but will not be revealed on your tac map unless you are in proximity to one.
To summon your Hellhound companion, simply head on over to the Doghouse and interact with it. Next,place a Chunk Of Flesh into the Doghouse. Upon doing so, a friendly Hellhound will burst out of it, thus completing the Deadman’s Best Friend achievement.
To get theYou Can Pet The Dog trophy,you will need to pet your undead mutt after summoning him. To do this, simplyeliminate all enemies in the areaprior to summoning your Hellhound. If done correctly, your Hellhound will sit and a prompt to pet him will appear.

Upgrading Your Hellhound
Now that we have covered how to get a Tier I Hellhound companion, let’s discuss how to receive an upgraded Hellhound. Hellhounds come in three tiers, and in order to upgrade the tier of Hellhound you receive, you will need to distribute larger quantities of flesh into Doghouses within higher-tier zones. To get aTier II Hellhound, place2x Chunk Of Flesh into a Doghousewithin theTier II Zone.
To get aTier III Hellhound, you will need to place3x Chunk of Flesh into the only Doghousewithin theTier III Zone. This Hellhound is better than the rest, as not only does it have more health and increased health regeneration, but it is also able to revive you once you are down.
