One of the most iconic LEGOStar Warssets is about to be retired following a stunningly successful four-year run: the massive 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina. Complete with 21 minifigures including Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi, the set is a crucial collector’s item, depicting the scenery of the legendary duel between Han Solo and Greedo inStar Wars: A New Hope.

Launched in September 2020,the 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina set is described on the LEGO official website as"the hub of underworld activity in the Tatooine spaceport of Mos Eisley, filled with smugglers and bounty hunters making deals and starting trouble." The set has earned rave reviews since its debut, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.The 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina has already sold out in the U.K. and Europe, so those hoping to add the set to their collection should probably head over to the LEGO shop sooner rather than later.

Priced at $399.99, the 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina includes a removable roof and detachable buildings alongside unique minifigures such as Ponda Baba, Garindan, Dr. Evazan, and three members of the Cantina band. It also features two Landspeeders and a hidden gem in the form of a “Wanted” poster depicting R2D2 and C-3PO.

Out With the Old, In With the New

The 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina set is not the only product leaving LEGO’s shelves by the end of the year. Other iconic and supersized sets like the 75313 AT-AT —another vital collector’s item clocking in at almost 7,000 pieces for $849.99— are on their way out as well. Once retired, the prices of these sets will skyrocket, as collectors will only be able to sell them secondhand. Re-releases of retired sets are also incredibly rare, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Fortunately, LEGO only retires sets to make room for new pieces. For theStar Warsuniverse, that could mean some innovative designs based on the newest LEGOStar Warstelevision series. Released in early September,LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxyfeatured a dramatic remix of familiarStar Warslore, creating plenty of opportunities for new sets and minifigures.
