Creators from across the Maker Studios network joined forces today to celebrate the launch of the newRogue One: A Star Wars Storyproduct line and officially kick off a global fan content contest. Beginning today, creators across gaming, lifestyle, comedy and family channels will post #GoRogue videos calling forStar Warsfans to get creative and share their ownRogue Storiesas part of the fan contest celebrating the much anticipated new movie. Starting today, eligible fans can enter the contest by uploading their short video stories or skits set in a galaxy far, far away. A panel of judges, includingRogue One: A Star Wars StorydirectorGareth Edwards, will choose the winning video. Winners will be invited to an advance screening ofRogue Oneat Lucasfilm in San Francisco to see their story on the big screen.

Teen and adult fans can find out more and enter the Go Rogue contest atStarWars.com/GoRogue. In the U.S. and parts of Canada, kids ages 8-12 can participate at Disney.com/MyRogueStory, where they also will find a video tutorial and tips to create their own stories. More than a dozen Maker Studios creators, with a collective reach of 35M+ followers and 360M+ monthly YouTube views, will upload #GoRogue videos including: an adventure through Action Movie Kid’s bedroom where toys come to life, an imaginative unboxing with Chris Pirillo and otherStar Wars super fans, and a ‘rogue’ family tale with MyFroggyStuff-all available now. The Star Wars fan universe is full of content creators, and there is a huge appetite for what they produce - equivalent to everyone in the world having viewed at least two fan-created Star Wars videos in the past year. For further inspiration, entrants can view the Go Rogue series of fan-made animated shorts on theStar WarsYouTube channel, created in collaboration with creative network Tongal, to reveal the new line ofRogue One toysthroughout the past month. To date, the series has garnered more than 10M views from fans around the world.

The new “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” product line is available beginning today at retailers globally, including mass retailers, Disney Store locations and disneystore.com. In related news, Wal-Mart has unveiled their new Force Friday toys that will be available starting today. First up is the Hasbro Smart R2-D2 Droid, a programmable droid that works with an accompanying app enabling Stars Wars fans to control R2-D2’s movements, see how R2-D2 responds to characters (you just have to see his reaction to Darth Vader) and more. Next is the Battery Powered X-Wing Fighter Ride On, where the young Rebel Alliance pilot in training can enjoy his very own ride. Walmart also offers one Funko! Pop Collectibles exclusive Rogue One character, Rebellion leader Saw Gerrera. Finally, four new classic characters will be arriving on Sept. 30 with additional Rogue One characters joining the force in November and December, in the 3.75-inch Black Series Action Figures line. All 3.75-inch Black Series figures, which boost more detail and points of articulation, are available only at Walmart. The new characters arriving in stores and Walmart.com include Admiral Ackbar (Return of the Jedi), Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars Clone WarsTV Series), Emperor’s Royal Guard (Return of the Jedi) and Lando Calrissian (Return of the Jedi).
