Ever wished to dual boot both Windows and Android on your tablet? The Cube i6 Air Tablet may just be the thing for you. With its ability to efficiently run both Windows 8.1 and Google Android 4.4 KitKat and multitude of features, it surely packs quite a punch.
The Cube i6 Air 3G features a 9.7 inch, 2048 x 1536 pixel IGZO display, an Intel Atom Z3735G Bay Trail Processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G, has an 8,000mAh battery, a microSD card slot, front and rear cameras.
Amidst pressure from Google and Microsoft, big companies had backed out from introducing dual-OS products. But now Chinese manufacturers like Pipo, Chuwi and Cube are taking this initiative by trying to procure free licenses for such products.
The i6 Air Tablet needs to be rebooted if one wishes to change the OS they are using, with a dedicated OS Switch Button in the Quick Settings Menu provided to allow the user to switch between the two OSs.
The folks at Liliputing.com got a chance to get their hands on the tablet running a pre-release version of Windows, but rest assured the device shall be shipped with a fully activated Windows 8.1 as well as Android.
One major tweak that the users may feel exists- is that the device can’t run both the operating systems simultaneously and thus one can’t run a Windows and Android app one after the other without waiting a little to switch from one operating system to other.
