There was always a great comfort in tuning into October on Disney Channel and seeing your favorite characters dress in costume and tackle semi-horror-related stories but still in a safe, fun, family-friendly way. If you’re not a fan of big scares or Halloween movies, these Halloween episodes of Disney Channel shows are a great way to enjoy the spirit of the holiday in a lighthearted way. Jessie, about a Texas teen (Debby Ryan) who becomes a New York City nanny to four children, pays tribute tothe classic movieGhostbustersin this Halloween episode. After not being invited to a party, Jessie throws her own for the kids. Things go wrong, however, when she begins seeing ghosts and has to defeat them to save everyone. It’s a fun tribute to the movie while still making the episode accessible enough for kids.

12Haunt It Up – Shake It Up
Shake It Upis the perfect Disney Channel series for those interested in a career in dancing. It portrays two Chicago-based teenagers named CeCe (Bella Thorne) and Rocky (Zendaya) who earn their way onto a dancing show called “Shake It Up, Chicago”. The stars of the show are still shining brighttoday.
In season three, the Halloween episode called “Haunt It Up” takes the stage. The premise of the episode includes CeCe and Rocky trying to make the most out of their Halloween after they make the mistake of thinking they are too “adult” for Halloween. That includes knitting and watching bleak movies. Elsewhere in the episode, Flynn, CeCe’s little brother, challenges Rocky’s brother Ty and his friend Deuce to spend some time in a haunted house on Halloween. This show is perfect for younger kids looking to laugh and dance all at the same time. This particular Halloween episode certainly brings the spookiness characteristic out, too.

11Summerween – Gravity Falls
Gravity Fallsisa beloved animated showabout twins Mabel and Dipper, who encounter the supernatural with their great-uncle. This Halloween episode centers around Gravity Falls’ Summertime Halloween holiday. The holiday also has the story of the Summerween Trickster, who will eat them if they don’t have enough holiday spirit. When Dipper accidentally insults the trickster, they have to defeat him to survive. It’s a fun episode for all ages that pairs the fun supernatural elements of the show with Halloween spirit.
10Costumes and Courage – Austin and Ally
Austin and Ally,which takes place in Miami, is about two great friends and musicians, unafraid singer Austin and the introverted songwriter Ally. After becoming an internet sensation by “borrowing” one of Ally’s songs, Austin and Ally join forces to become an incredible musical duo. With the help of friends Trish and Dez, there is no problem that the group can’t overcome, even if it is a problem that one of them creates.
In the Halloween episode known as “Costumes and Courage”, Austin must perform at his new record label’s Halloween party with Taylor Swift. However, when Taylor is accidentally knocked out by Dez, Ally, who is wearing the same costume as Taylor, must step in and perform with Austin. After it goes perfectly, Austin makes sure Ally knows that she could’ve performed like this with or without her mask on. That is a big theme throughout this show. Austin continues to help Ally with her fear of performing.

9October 31st – Kim Possible
Kim (Christy Carlson Romano) is used to taking on villains and dealing with technology onKim Possible, and this Halloween episode sees her deal with both. After trying to get a metallic bracelet from Drakken, it ends up stuck to Kim’s wrist. While telling lies about her Halloween plans, she finds it growing on her body with each lie, while Drakken and Killigan listen in and try to steal the device. There’s tension as Kim must battle the device and come clean, but it’s still an entertaining and lighthearted Halloween episode.
8Le Halloween – Good Luck Charlie
Good Luck Charlietells the story of the Duncan family, who lives in Denver. As parents Amy and Bob return to work, the three oldest children, PJ, Teddy, and Gabe, help raise their youngest siblings in toddlers Charlie and Toby. At the end of every episode, Teddy keeps a video diary for her baby sister in Charlie, who she hopes to help with advice she gives in each of the videos.
In season three, there is the Halloween episode known as “Le Halloween.” In this particular episode, Amy dresses up as a kangaroo, as do Charlie and Toby, whom she puts in her kangaroo pouch. Bob, an exterminator, throws on a cape and laughably calls himself Captain Extermo. Additionally, Teddy and her boyfriend, Spencer, have a French-styled dinner to celebrate their one-year anniversary. Things get a little bumpy when the dinner is poorly made and Spencer isn’t completely committed to their relationship. Finally, sneaky younger brother Gabe gets roped into going to a ceremony in honor of neighbor Mrs. Dabney’s charitable work. Like every episode, this one has its fair share of triumphs and troubles. It’s especially hectic on Halloween. But in the end, it all goes towards helping Charlie when she is older.

7Halloween – Wizards of Waverly Place
Wizards of Waverly Placecenters around the magical Russo family,featuring Selena Gomezas Alex. “Halloween” sees the Russos preparing to host their annual haunted house, which is often lame as older brother Justin prefers a safe experience. In an effort to make it scary, Alex goes to the wizarding world and comes back with real ghosts – the first is lame, so she goes back and returns with Mantooth, the scariest ghost in history, to make the house really scary. The whole cast is great in this one, making for a memorable Halloween experience.

Lizzie McGuirestars Hillary Duff as Lizzie, who chronicles her life across the show. In this Halloween episode, she wants to dress as a vampire character for a school dance, but she is forced to be a clown instead by Kate, who’s running the party. When Lizzie’s friend Miranda comes with items for Day of the Dead, Kate is further disrespectful, prompting Miranda to say she will see the dead’s wrath. The party becomes dark as Lizzie appears to be a zombie, and skeletons follow Kate. It’s a scary installment of the show, and the cast,speaking with E News, even thought it was ahead of its time for incorporating Day of the Dead.

5Girl Meets World of Terror 2 – Girl Meets World
Nearly a decade-and-a-half after the end of the famedBoy Meets Worldseries, in cameGirl Meets World. This show follows the daughter of Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) named Riley. She, along with her best friend Maya, navigates the journey of being a middle schooler in Manhattan. What is most intriguing is that Cory is her history teacher, and he takes it upon himself to help the students learn about life too.
In the second Halloween episode of the series that is entitled “Girl Meets World of Terror 2”,Riley and Maya end up meeting a ghost of the bay window that the two girls have shared plenty of special moments in front of. This is also a crossover episode as the girls end up meetingAustin and Ally’smain characters, Austin Moon and Ally Dawson, in a haunted house. This episode shows parents that it’s okay to trust their children to live their lives, especially when it comes to going to haunted houses on Halloween.
4Don’t Have a Cow – That’s So Raven
That’s So Ravenstars Raven-Symone as the title character, who sees the future and gets into chaos because of it. This one plays around with magic instead, as Raven and her friend Chelsea put a spell on themselves to get invited to a Halloween party and win the costume contest. Things backfire as the two actually begin turning into their cow costumes, starting with make-up changes before they become cows with wigs on instead. It’s a change of pace for the show and a fun Halloween episode.
