During yesterday’s Xbox Partner Preview, Microsoft showed off a slew of upcoming titles including: The First Berserker: Khazan, the new Soulslike ARPG being published by Nexon. Nexon is also working on their ownARPG - Vindictus: Defying Fate, which you may read more about in our article.
The First Berskerer: Khazan Gameplay Looks a Lot Like Souls but Faster
The gameplay of Khazan, looked to be a faster pace than the Souls franchise, with a slightly more anime art style, but you could clearly see parrying, blocking and dodging in the combat. Additionally, most footage showcased one on one scenarios with menacing attacks and proper timing being the key to victory, rather than using the “just overwhelm them with numbers” strategy that some games are known for.
The character even unlocks a checkpoint, that looks very “soulslike” in nature, but no details were shown of Khazan’s UI or UX, so we can’t really get a sense of how this will be displayed. There were also no “trash” enemies shown, which may mean that the game has a focus on boss fights, much like the upcoming Soulslike based on the Chinese Mythology:Black Myth: Wukong.
The developers evenposted some statistics on Twittershowcasing the satisfaction of Korean players who had tested the game (the game is being developed in Korea), which you can see below. These numbers are impressive to say the least, and we cannot wait to see more from this title moving forward!
The First Berserker: Khazan Release Date & Platforms
Despite the game being shown at the Xbox Partner Preview, The First Berserker: Khazan will be coming to PC via Steam as well as Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so if you don’t own an Xbox no worries there. You will be able to play on any of these platforms.
There is currently no release date set for The First Berserer: Khazan, but many people are speculating that it will be released later this year, or Q1 of 2025
