If there’s one thing that Ubisoft does well with their multitude of franchises, it’s creating dense environments filled with exploration. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is no different, as the vast world the studio has created is ripe for adventure. Whether it’s the various unique enemies you’ll come across on your adventures or investigating reportedYokaiin the area, there feels like an overwhelming amount of content to dig your teeth into.
One such activity is participating in the numerous temples and shrines. Japan is a country of tradition and religion, at least back in the 1500s when Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place. If you’ve ever been to the country, you’ll know that the number of temples and shrines feels infinite, and in Shadows, it’s well represented with some of the most iconic structures in the Kansai region.

Purpose of Temples & Shrines
With each of the temples and shrines, there will either be lost pages that need collecting or shrines that need to be prayed to. Doing so will unlock a good amount of EXP along with a Knowledge point that can be used to upgrade Nao and Yasuke. Some of these locations have surprisingly well-hidden collectibles, but with this guide you’ll have no problem finding them.
The Toji Temple is found in the Yamashiro region of Japan. It is located in the city of Kyoto, the furthest south.
Lost Page Locations
Lost Page #1
Coming in from the south entrance of the Toji Temple, the first Lost Page can be found fairly early on. Naturally, you’ll want to climb the viewpoint first, but before doing so, head a little more north of the pagoda to find a small pond. The first Lost Page can be found in the middle of the pond on a small grassy part of land poking out of the water.

The second Lost Page can be found immediately to the west of the last collectible in the pond. Dry off your feet and head west until you hit one of the main buildings. It is the one furthest south of the temple, and a rather tall one at that. At the very top of the building, there will be a small wooden platform sticking out, with the Lost Page conveniently sitting on the edge.

The final Lost Page requires a little bit more work to obtain, but is still a fairly easy get if you know where it is. For this one, you’ll need to head to the northernmost building in the Toji Temple. Just east of it you’ll find a tree, and on one of the branches is the Lost Page. How it stays up there with all the wind and rain is beyond us. Regardless, what needs to be done is climb the northern building to the roof and jump across to the tree on the east.
