One of the key reasons why so many of us love the ARPG genre is due to the build diversity that stems from multiple unique classes and playstyles. It’s why I’m hooked on Path of Exile, Last Epoch, and Diablo IV, rotating between each one in turn, and why—like you—I can’t wait for Path of Exile 2. But for now, what are the Path of Exile 2 classes?

Every Path of Exile 2 Class Confirmed

In all, Path of Exile 2 features 12 base classes, with the majority focusing on a single or dual-attribute combination to help increase build diversity from the get-go. The currently confirmed classes include:

Alongside the twelve base classes in the game, every class features three Ascendancy Classes, for a grand total of 36 Ascendancy Classes. Unfortunately, we don’t know every Ascendancy Class in Path of Exile 2, with the exception of the Elementalist for the Sorceress. As we grow closer to the next beta playtest, we’ll likely see more about the second set of classes!

Are Path of Exile 2 Classes Gender-Locked?

Like in the first Path of Exile, the classes in the sequel will remain gender-locked. As such, if you want to play as a Witch, you must play as a female character. For many, that’s not an issue. After all, it’s about the build, power, and playstyle, not about the pixelated gender on-screen. Others, unfortunately, will find fault with this system.

Do you know which class you’ll play first in Path of Exile 2? Me? I’m leaning towards a Mercenary or Witch!
