A new test would enable WhatsApp wallpapers for voice calls and let you turn the two-step verification feature on or off on WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web.

WhatsApp wallpapers for voice calls

WABetaInfohas unearthed an interface for an unreleased feature that would let you set the chat wallpaper when placing a voice call. Currently, this beta feature automatically selects your default chat wallpaper as your wallpaper for voice calls. A future update, the site speculates, may make it so the call wallpaper reflects the chat wallpaper.

This feature is currently being tested in WhatsApp Beta for iOS. It is currently unavailable in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.

Two-step verification on desktop and the web

With two-step verification turned on for your WhatsApp account, you set up a six-digit PIN. Then when you register your phone number with WhatsApp again or sign in to your account on a new device, you’ll need to enter this PIN.

Two-step verification adds another layer of security to your WhatsApp account similar to Apple’s two-factor authentication for your Apple ID account. And now, WhatsApp is testing two-step verification in its desktop app for Mac and Windows, as well as on its web interface. Read:How to turn on two-step verification for your WhatsApp account

As evidenced by screenshots inanother WABetaInfo post, it will be possible to turn the two-step verification feature on the desktop and web clients on or off.

This is very important especially when you lose your phone and you do not remember your PIN. Yes, you’re able to restore it by requesting a reset link, but if you are temporarily unable to log into your mail account, this is a good solution.

This feature will also arrive in a future update.
