A bad toothache feels like it’s almost a death sentence in medieval times, but thankfully there is some alchemy that can be had inTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. This is among one of the first few side quests you can find in the massive RPG, as the Horns of the South settlement features some rather colorful characters. In this case, it’s Keeper Lanzo who has just been told some bad news that he needs to get some teeth removed, and why not have the blacksmith do it for him? It’s up to you to acquire some remedies to hopefully ease his pain.

Accepting the Quest
Finding and accepting the Pain Relief quest is a little trickier than we thought it would. While it’s not something you need a prerequisite to accept or someone who’s extremely hidden in the world, it’s more that there aren’t any indicators for NPCs who have quests.
Fortunately, he’s not too difficult to find overall, as long as you know where to look. Head into the Horns of the South and head all the way up the staircase. Head into the back near Fearghas. When looking at Fearghas, do an immediate 180-degree turn, and you will see not only your stash but next to it is a Keeper named Lanzo.
Lanzo will complain that he has tooth pain and the healer has told him it’s rotten and to get it pulled by Osbryht, the blacksmith. He does have a means of solving the tooth pain, but the healer won’t give him the recipe. That’s where you come into play.
Collecting the Ingredients
Head inside the house Keeper Lanzo leaves and speak to Jann Heber. He’s reluctant to give you the recipe for the Toothache Remedy. Head into Brother Riagan’s Quarters to the east towards the entrance of the settlement, and you’ll have access to an Alchemist Station. Unfortunately, you will need access to specific ingredients:
Fortunately,every single one of these ingredients can be purchased from Jann Heberhimself. Head back to Jann and you can purchaseSpirit for 20 gold, the threeSage for 12 gold, and the fiveCarnation for 20 gold.
All that needs to be done is craft the Toothache Remedy and hand it over to Keeper Lanzo to receive your reward and complete the side quest.
