Combat in Wuthering Waves is fast-paced, and it’s hard to keep track of your damage numbers. Fortunately, there’s a way around that. Let me show you where to find the Sparring Partner in Wuthering Waves.
How to practice combat and find Hua Leilang in Wuthering Waves
I used to use Simulation Training for practice, but it’s not great. You’re limited to the same group of enemies, and it’s not a decent environment to practice damage rotations. You can get shot in the back when practicing with new Resonators, and it’s not up to the task.
If you want to experiment, the best place to do so is against the Sparring Partner.you’re able to find Hua Leilang just west of Loong’s Gaze Suburbs, and I’ve marked his location with a star in the image above. The closest beacon is a short distance north.
As a side note, I find combat much easier with the camera distance pulled back slightly. You canchange the camera position in the Graphics settings.
How to use Hua Leilang for practice
When you speak to Hua Leilang, he will challenge you to a battle. Hua hits pretty hard, buteach attack is well-telegraphed. Your opponent has no tricks, and you may effortlessly dodge everything he does. The best thing about this NPC isyou can challenge him as often as you like.
Hua is always up for sparring, sovisit him whenever you need practice. I use his services so often that I’ve even added a custom marker for his location on my map.
The only limitation of the Sparring Partner isyou can’t practice counter timing. It’s not the end of the world, as every attack you can counter has unique timing, but it would be nice to have a training area for more advanced combat techniques.
Combat is smooth and satisfying in Wuthering Waves, but graphical hitches and stutters can absolutely ruin the experience. Fortunately, most stuttering issues aren’t permanent, butthere are reliable fixesto the problem.
