Final Fantasy XIVhas a slew of different types of content. Whether it’s combat-related content such as Savage and Extreme raids or more casual activities such as crafting and gathering, there’s no shortage of things to do in the MMORPG. One such activity that falls into the former is Alliance Raids.

While not difficult, and more or less falls into the causal aspect of the combat content, Alliance Raids help players progress their ilevel a bit further, all while experiencing much more forgiving mechanics. ForDawntrail, we are given a dose of nostalgia as it deals heavily with Vana’diel, the world of Final Fantasy XI. Now that 7.3 is out for everyone to try it out, you will need to unlock it.

How to Unlock Cruiserweight Raid Tier in FFXIV: Dawntrail

The show must go on as the second raid tier has dropped in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail.

Pre-requisites for San d’Oria: The Second Walk

Being the second of three Alliance Raids scheduled for Dawntrail, the Second Walk seems like an appropriate subtitle for the newest raid. The first thing you will need to do is complete the entirety of the main story of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, specifically the final mission called “Dawntrail.”

After doing this, you will have the ability to unlock thefirst Alliance Raid. You will then need to progress through the story and complete the first raid itself, and at the end, finish the remaining story that was released in patch 7.1.

Where to Unlock San d’Oria: The Second Walk

If you have already done all of this, the big question now is where you go to pick up the newest quest to progress the story. You’ve likely forgotten where it last left off given it has been around 8+ months since the last raid was released. Thankfully, it’s in a very convenient spot.

Head to Tuliyollal and use the main Aetheryte. From here, teleport to Brightploom Post, all the way to the northeast of the map. From here, you will travel east until you meet theLandsguard Messenger (X: 16.1 Y: 3.9).

By talking with him, it will initiate the quest “Dreams of Paradise,” which will reward you with5000 Giland aPhoenix Plumeat its completion. This will take you through a couple of cutscenes and return back to Lower Jeuno where you will meet your newest threat: a Zilart.

All that needs to be done is complete the second Alliance Raid and its story, and this will set you up for the third Alliance Raid when it releases sometime in 2026 (likely spring). Outside of that, the Alliance Raid is the same as ever, where there is a weekly lockout until much later on, with only one piece of gear being obtainable each week.
