Headed to theaters later this year,Wicked: For Goodis the highly-anticipated sequel to the five-time Oscar-winning film from 2024 that starred Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Although fans were just treated to the beloved adaptation, a first look at the upcoming follow-up has been in the back of their minds since last November. And now, the wait is finally over, as the first poster forWicked: For Goodhas surfaced online ahead of the film’s trailer, which is expected to release soon.
Universal Pictures is pulling out all the stops to promote their upcoming films at CinemaCon, a convention for theater companies that takes place in Las Vegas. Someone attending the event were able to snap an image of a poster fromWicked: For Goodplastered on elevator doors. It features Erivo and Grande as their respective characters and some daring and magical new attire. Elphaba seems to be sporting a sword at her side, too. You can check out the poster below.

Although it has not been confirmed that fans will get a sneak peek atWicked: For Goodduring CinemaCon, they should pay close attention to the Universal panel on Apr. 2. Major studios love to excite theater companies by showing off their biggest movie releases, andtheWickedsequel certainly fits that description. There will almost certainly be footage shown to the attendees, but the question remains if anything will be released online to the public. Typically, these things turn out to be 60/40 (or 70/30). Most stuff is relegated only to CinemaCon while other crumbs are announced for the public. There is also a chance the entirety of the film will be screened at the convention, but that is a rare occurrence.

To no one’s surprise, it quickly soared up to the top spot of the streaming platform. Now, when the trailer for the sequel releases soon, fans can readily experience the magic of the original before witnessing the final chapter in the two-part saga.
Wicked: For Goodheads to theaters a year after the first film, made possible due to the fact the adaptations were shot back-to-back. After a faithful retelling of the source material, fans are excited to see how the sequel continues that trend while also expanding the story, and potentially making its own version ofWizard of Oz.
