With a headline like that, do we really need to tell you there areMAJOR SPOILERSahead? No? Good. Then if you’re still here, hold onto your seat! Anew rumorclaims that not all of the heroes are going to make it out ofCaptain America: Civil Waralive. And it’s not whom you may think is going to die, especially if you are familiar with thecomic book storyarc this particular sequel is pulling its legendary mythos from. Are you ready for the answer?

Yes, it’s T’Chaka. According to a new rumor fromHeoric Hollywood,Black Panther’s father is not going to make it until the end of the movie. The site does not go onto give any other information. We don’t know how it happens, or who’s hands are responsible. But we can expect T’Chaka will not be around forAvengers: Infinity War - Part I.

Of course, we don’t need any inside sources to arrive at this conclusion. In theMarvelcomics, T’Chaka was murdered byUlysses Klaue, played byAndy SerkisinAvengers: Age of Ultron. T’Chaka is the Chief of Wakanda, who is pledged to protect the sacred metal know as Vibranium. Which, if you’ve seenAvengers 2, is the same substance that Ultron takes from Ulysses to create his drone army. From an early age, T’Chaka has excelled in the ways of African magic. He has taken a stance to preserve Wakanda’s heritage and honor the old ways. Despite this, Wakanda is just as technologically advanced as any society.

Wakanda is an independent entity with no ties to any other nation. Because of this T’Chaka is called forth by the UN, with the hopes of setting up a trade route with Wakanda. The chieftain refuses, and is eventually assassinated by Klaue while trying to protect his wife and children. Soon after, T’Challa takes over for his father and becomes theBlack Panther. It’s not yet clear how closelyCaptain America: Civil Warwill follow the comics, or how much screen time this will get in the movie, seeing as how the main plot has much bigger fish to fry with the Superhero Registration Act, now referred to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Sokovia Accords.

It has been confirmed thatChadwick Bosemanis making his debut appearance asBlack PantherinCaptain America: Civil War. There has never been any confirmation from the studio thatT’Chakais making an appearance in the movie, but an earlier rumor claimed thatErnie Hudsonis wanted for the role. Before setting upHeoric Hollywood, it wasEl Mayimbewho first reported on this casting. This new rumor that T’Chaka is set to bite the big one almost smells like a refried story, as the original report also hinted at the character’s possible death. However you draw the line, if T’Chaka is in the movie, it’s easy to deduce the fact that he’ll die on screen. Especially if T’Challa is a fully-formed superhero by the time we catch up with him in the standaloneBlack Panthermovie coming two years later in 2018.
