WWE 2K24 has been officially announced for early March, bringing with it an impressive four new match types, more than 200 WWE superstars from past and present, and a ton of other improvements from the last installment of the long-running wrestling game series. The Deluxe and 40 Years of Wrestlemania versions will be available beginning March 5 while the Standard and Standard Cross-Gen Digital Editions will follow on March 8.
The full roster has yet to be announced, but some of the superstars who will be playable include Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, and Asuka, while legends like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Andre the Giant, Batista, Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and Chyna have also been announced.

Indiana Jones Fans Are Debating Whether Or Not The Great Circle Should Be Fully Third-Person
The Great Circle will be predominantly first-person, with third-person cutscenes and traversal.
Gracing the cover of the standard edition this year will be “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, while the Deluxe edition cover will be split by Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. This is a historic moment for publisher2Kand developer Digital Concepts, as Belair will be the first woman of color featured on a 2K cover. Finally, the 40 Years of Wrestlemania version will feature original artwork of a number of WWE legends, including (but not limited to) “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Brock Lesnar, and Hulk Hogan.

While Rhodes will be the cover star of the standard edition, it seems like WWE 2K24 is breaking tradition, as no showcase mode for him has been announced. Instead, this year’s game will feature a mode called “2K Showcase…of the Immortals”, which will celebrate Wrestlemania’s robust 40 year history. The mode will include moments like Hulk Hogan’s legendary bodyslam of Andre the Giant and Shawn Michaels earning his “Mr. WrestleMania” moniker in a match against The Undertaker, all seamlessly cut together between gameplay and real video clips of past Wrestlemania matches.
Bringing Four New Match Types To The Game
In addition, fans can look forward to four new match types: Casket Match, Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, and Gauntlet Match. Also, if you’re worried about your favorite past match types going away, don’t fret, because all matche types fromWWE 2K23will be returning, and the Backstage Brawl will be expanded to support four players and will have addional environmental features, like a working elevator, breakable glass, and a vending machine that dispenses throwable soda cans.
Additonally, the game’s other modes from previous WWE 2K games — MyGM, MyFACTION, Universe, and MyRISE — will return with new features added, along with the creation suite, which will now add customizable referees and signs to its already jam-packed creation tools, which include superstars and arenas. Overall gameplay also has some new features, like the ability to dive onto multiple opponents at ringside, more weapons (which will also now be throwable), Super Finishers, and a Trading Blows mini-game.
