The episode featuring Lynch as Lauper, dubbed “The People Need You,” will air on NBC on Friday night, asThe Rocksays in his Instagram post.
“Officially welcoming Becky Lynch to ourYoung Rockcast,” Johnson said in the post, including three images of Lynch in the show. “Becky takes on the daunting and FUN task of playing the one and only - the icon Cyndi Lauper. I was right there for Becky’s audition and we were all very impressed at her high level commitment as an actor to become Cyndi Lauper. No easy task, but she worked her butt off and went all in - and crushed it. CAN’T WAIT for you guys to see Becky’s acting debut!!!”

All of her previous credits were under her Becky Lynch name.

Cyndi Lauper Was Involved With Pro Wrestling in the 1980s
With more than 50 million records sold, Cyndi Lauper is a music icon who rose to fame in the 1980s. She was also a key figure of the Rock ‘n Wrestling Connection of the decade, even featuring wrestling legend Captain Lou Albano in her music video for “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” Her 1985 single “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough,” developed forThe Goonies’ soundtrack, featured notable wrestling stars in the video as well. Lauper also often appeared on WWE programming, including an appearance at the first-ever WrestleMania, often interacting with big names in the business like Hulk Hogan.
A variety of wrestling stars of the 80s have also been portrayed onYoung Rock. The series features three different actors representing separate time periods of The Rock’s life, and that includes his childhood in the 1980s. At that time, because his father and grandfather had been pro wrestlers, a young Rock was friends with many of the biggest names in WWE (then WWF).
