For a long time, Frank Herbert’sDune, which influenced George Lucas’s galaxy far, far away, was considered unfilmable before Denis Villeneuve took things into his own hands. And with the sequel on the Gates, which is set to tie all the loose threads from the firstDune, fans are already asking for a confirmation on part 3, and Zendaya is down for it.

While it’s still yet to be confirmed by the studios ifDune 3eventually will get greenlit, theSpider-Man: No Way Homestar has no problem returning to explore Herbert’sDune Messiah.

Zendaya Is Just a Call Away From Returning for MoreDune
AlthoughZendayahas been one of the busiest Hollywood A-listers in recent times, both on the small and big screen, her hefty schedule isn’t going to be a problem for her working bond with Villeneuve. Having loved working with the perfectionist, theChallengersStar expressed that if theSicariodirector calls for her, she will be ready to play her part.
Furthermore, the actor shared (viaFandango) that she was taken aback after readingDune Messiah. She stressed that there was nobody better than Villeneuve to handle the story.

“Would we be down? I mean of course,”Zendaya said.“Anytime Denis calls it’s a yes from me, at least. I’m excited to see what happens. I started Messiah and I was like, ‘Woah, I’m only shooting the first movie. Let me just go back to the first one.’ It’s so much to take in, and I think there’s no better hands with better care and love for it than him [Villeneuve].”
While she is excited to see what the future holds, considering Villeneuve is a perfectionist who“doesn’t want to share things unless he’s fully ready”, Zendaya said she will wait until he’s ready.

MakingDunea Trilogy Would Be a Dream Come True for Denis Villeneuve
Fortunately for fans,Denis Villeneuveis completely on board with the concept of a threequel, as he expressed that getting to makeDunea trilogy would be a dream come true. However, per his interview withEmpire,Dune 3is yet to be officially confirmed. But the director did stress that“there are words on paper” for a third entry, as he shared his possible direction for it.
“If I succeed in making a trilogy, that would be the dream. Dune Messiah was written in reaction to the fact that people perceived Paul Atreides as a hero,”Villeneuve explained.“Which is not what he wanted to do. My adaptation [of Dune] is closer to his idea that it’s a warning.”
